NairobiI: Kenya has confirmed four new cases of the Ebola Bundibugyo virus, taking the total number of infections in the country to seven, according to health officials. Three of the newly diagnosed patients are healthcare workers.
The four patients initially developed fever and were isolated before undergoing testing. An individual who had been in close contact with Kenya’s first Ebola patient has also tested positive.
Kenya reported its first case on October 6. The patient, who had lived in the Democratic Republic of Congo for seven years, died in Nairobi. Authorities subsequently conducted a safe and dignified burial.

Following the latest confirmations, health officials have intensified efforts to identify and trace people who may have come into contact with infected individuals. Testing and isolation measures have also been prioritised to contain the spread of the virus.
The emergence of additional cases, including infections among healthcare workers, has heightened the need for close monitoring and precautionary measures as authorities work to identify potential transmission links.
