Bengaluru: Karnataka minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Monday accused Union minister H D Kumaraswamy of masterminding the release of the controversial sting video, alleging that the latter’s social media team was directly involved in the operation.
Gowda further claimed that the operation was conducted from Kumaraswamy’s official residence in Delhi and that financial transactions linked to it also took place there.
He alleged that the objective was to tarnish the reputation of a former chief minister and shift the blame onto the incumbent chief minister.

Criticising the political developments, Gowda said allegations and counter-allegations should not become the focus of public life. He said political leaders should prioritise public service over character assassination and vendetta politics.
He added that indulging in mutual accusations instead of addressing people’s problems undermined the dignity of the political system and was unfair to the public.
