New Delhi: India have announced a 28-member squad for the SAFF Championship, scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from November 5 to 17. Defending champions India will aim for a record-extending 10th consecutive title in the under-23 tournament.
Placed in Group B, India will open their campaign against Pakistan on November 5 before facing the Maldives.
The senior national team is unlikely to feature as it is scheduled to play friendlies against New Zealand on November 12 and 15.
With the tournament beginning outside the FIFA international window, ISL clubs have been reluctant to release senior players, prompting India to field a young squad.
